An idea or concept can become the foundation of pride and arrogance, particularly if it makes you feel “superior” for knowing it or “getting it.” We all have our pet philosophies of life, our own point of view that we regard as the “truth.” It helps us make sense of our experience and perceptions.
We often make a display our ideas or concepts like medals of achievement. Our often hidden motive is to bask in the admiration of our peers and to feel “special” or better than others.
Everyone wants to feel good about their “self.” When one comes to realize this, silence might appear to be the better option. But then we realize we are judging it as a “better” option which still places a person in a superior position within one’s own mind. That is why the silence beyond thought and feeling is the window into the unknown truth.
